Kwalee visits Warwickshire College

With the launch of a new foundation degree in Games Art at Warwickshire College, Kwalee were more than happy to support this creative course by visiting today. With more than a dozen gaming companies within the Leamington Spa area, this course will no doubt bring encouragement to those wishing to pursue an exciting career as an artist within the gaming industry.

Artists Jay and James and I were there to discuss the design and importance of the Games Art degree, along with representatives from local games companies Blitz Games and Codemasters. Warwick and Leamington MP Chris White also attended, with an interest to see how passionate students are to work in Games Art.

Jay is particularly excited to see students keen to work in game art. “The bar is incredibly high and artists are ferocious for each job, but a course like this can help develop skills and expand knowledge. Leamington Spa is thriving with gaming companies, so the opportunity to study Games Art at Warwickshire College is truly fantastic.”

Course Manager Mike Irvine is excited to launch this degree.

“I am excited to see talented artists apply, who have a genuine interest and passion to work within games. We hope to build a bright future with Kwalee and other games companies and aspire a bright future in the games industry.”

Kwalee hope to be involved with student projects, offer real-life industry experience and support those who wish for advice to work within the gaming industry.
