Jason Falcus appointed COO of Kwalee

Kwalee today announce that Jason Falcus is joining as Chief Operating Officer (COO) to help run the company’s operations.

David Darling, CEO of Kwalee says:

“I’ve known Jason for 26 years, and we have worked together on many games for Codemasters.  He started programming at a very young age, having his first game published when he was only 13 years old.  Since then he has completed over 20 games and founded and managed several development studios including Atomic Planet Entertainment and Optimus Software which he sold to Iguana/Acclaim.  He is used to managing large teams of 75 staff.”

Jason is a successful programmer and studio manager having programmed the SNES version of NBA Jam & NBA Jam TE, and managed the team that developed the other formats which was published by Acclaim and went on to sell over 6 million units.

Jason has developed titles for many major publishers, including SCEE (Sony), Codemasters, Capcom, Take2, Bethesda, Team 17 and Atari.  More recently he has managed mobile projects such as Worms 2 (iOS), and been instrumental in securing App Store features from Apple.  During his career he has negotiated and signed several multi-million pound contracts with companies such as Sony, Atari, Global Star and Orange.  He has good direct experience with the Asian market for example Jason was the Exec Producer on ACR Drift whilst at Eutechnyx and assisted the Japanese Publisher Crooz with the launch of the game.  ACR Drift has become a very successful title going to No.1 in the App Store Overall Chart in 70 countries and was the highest grossing game in 33 countries.


As he has both commercial business and development skills he will be helping David Darling, CEO manage both parts of the company.


Areas he will focus on are development, analytics, retention, monetization, licensing, strategy, platform relationships (Apple, Google, Amazon, etc.) and business development.


The games industry experience that he has spanned 31 years and nearly all the major computer, console, handheld and mobile formats.
