The Lead Social Media Manager will balance hands-on execution with strategic team leadership as part of the Social Media function within the Community & Social Media team in our PC & Console division.
This role is responsible for oversight of Social Media operations ranging from process, best practice, content creation and performance. As well as managing a specific set of games in Kwalee’s portfolio, they will be expected to manage and develop direct reports in Social Media Operations across social media content creation and planning on key platforms such as; X/Twitter, Tiktok, Instagram Reels, and Youtube Shorts.
The role will also involve working closely with a Community counterpart to ensure seamless alignment, facilitating a funnel driven player-centric experience during go to market and lifecycle phases across multiple games in Kwalee’s portfolio.
What You'll Do
Oversight of Social Media Content Creation, Platform Management, Process, Standards & Workflow:
- Maintain and update overall process workflow for Go to Market Process across Planning, Announcements, Grind, Launch and Postlaunch phases.
- Manage administration, access and configuration of Social Media tooling (Sprout Social for example), as required.
- Develop and maintain KPIs for Social Media Operations across products and any potential Kwalee brand initiatives within PC & Console.
- Maintain best practices in communication when working closely with External Stakeholders (Developers, Agency Partners) and Internal Stakeholders (QA, Production, Product Marketing).
Coordination & Collaboration with Community Counterpart:
- Ensure weekly collective priorities are communicated within the team, where crossover is appropriate, on specific games.
- Ensure Social Media planning output complements Community planning where appropriate. Define, develop and constantly improve upon agreed standards of process and communication within the Community & Social Media team to facilitate this.
- Coordinate on forward planning across the portfolio, acting as a collective "Radar" for the team; actively scanning across all active projects to identify risks, resource conflicts, bottlenecks, and potential opportunities to agree priorities together.
People Management
- Delegate game games from the Kwalee portfolio and distribute to the Social Media team as appropriate.
- Oversee workflow and team priorities for the week to determine bandwidth, with a focus on KPIs being met.
- Mentor team members on their games across content creation, development, engagement, moderation, and stakeholder management
Manage games
- Manage your own allotted game games in building, monitoring, and engaging communities across the game’s lifecycle and provide cover for any direct reports where required.
- Develop Social Media plans that engage and excite players across key games, working closely with the development team to define and measure success metrics.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across key games.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in a Social Media Manager role, with a deep expertise in social media platform dynamics, content creation, trends, and video game culture.
- A creative and strategic mindset for community engagement and campaign execution, with a great eye for what good looks like.
- Experience in both setting and meeting KPIs, with the ability to build and tie to key business metrics to both inputs and outputs.
- Proven people management experience, with a track record in leading, delegating, mentoring, and developing team members whilst fostering a collaborative environment.
- Excellent written verbal and communication skills.
- The ability to organise workloads effectively whilst hitting deadlines reliably.
- The ability to convey complex ideas with strong attention to detail.
- A strategic mindset, with the ability to design, implement, and optimise processes to achieve key objectives.
- The ability to prioritise based on effort, impact, and business value.
