As we continue to grow, Kwalee's Legal team are looking for a driven Legal Assistant based in our Bangalore studio, working on site 5 days per week.

The Legal Assistant will report into the Legal Counsel, with responsibility for various legal tasks including; drafting, reviewing,
and analysing commercial contracts, filing takedown notices and supporting the legal team (UK and
India) with various legal matters as per the business’s needs.

Responsibilities

  • Initial-stage drafting, review and analysis of a wide range of commercial contracts.
  • Assisting in contract lifecycle management such as document production, arranging e-signatures, organising and filing of the documents.
  • Recording information in the legal management information system (MIS) and keeping MIS up-to-date.
  • Legal document and database administration, including keeping up to date information related to the business.
  • Legal tools administration (such as: Pandadoc, contracts integration).
  • Assisting legal team with the administration of Kwalee’s portfolio of intellectual property rights.
  • Legal research, including researching legislation and case law and preparing summaries, analysis and presenting to senior company executives where appropriate.
  • Other legal and non-legal research tasks including carrying out due diligence searches and industry research.
  • Supporting the legal team with project work.
  • Assisting with the preparation, updating, implementation and monitoring Kwalee’s internal policies.
  • Potential to assist with early-stage dispute resolution management and associated administrative tasks.
  • Assisting with data subject access requests (data protection).
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to take instructions and progress legal matters.
  • General administrative support to the wider legal team and other ad hoc tasks as may be required.
  • Filing take down notices for clone games and proactive research on identifying clone games.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Law Degree.
  • Previous experience of 2+ years in a legal environment, preferably in-house within video games or the tech industry, with a working knowledge of IP.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Commercially minded with a willingness to find solutions.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within a team.
  • Based in our studio in Bangalore, on-site.
