Join the team
As we continue to grow, we are now looking for a Management Accountant to join our UK Finance team.
As a management accountant you will be responsible for overseeing core financial operations, including AR/AP activities, payroll, VAT compliance, bank payments, and supporting month-end closes, audits, and tax incentive claims. Additionally, you will drive business performance by preparing management reports, collaborating across teams on budget management, and continuous process optimization through automation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the accounting and reporting activities performed by the AR-AP
- accountants, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal
- reporting requirements.
- Review and prepare monthly royalty statements, ensuring timely and accurate
- reporting developers.
- Manage the monthly accounting of sales and purchase invoices within the accounting
- system, including reconciliations and reporting reviews
- Support the month-end close process, including P&L review, balance sheet
- reconciliations, and oversight of prepayments, accruals, amortisation, and fixed asset
- schedules.
- Ensure all VAT returns, filings, and related payments are completed accurately and
- within statutory deadlines.
- Prepare and coordinate weekly bank payment runs, ensuring appropriate approvals
- and controls are maintained.
- Prepare and review monthly UK payroll, ensuring alignment with HR records,
- policies, and statutory requirements.
- Produce analytical reviews and monthly management reports, providing clear
- commentary on key movements and business performance
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure costs, budgets, and
- financial processes are effectively managed and adhered to.
- Support the preparation of UK tax incentive claims, including Video Games Tax
- Relief (VGTR) and Research & Development (R&D) claims.
- Support external audit requests and liaise with tax advisors and external accountants
- to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes through automation and system
- enhancements, including researching, testing, and implementing new finance tools
Requirements
- Professional Qualification: ACCA / CA / CMA qualified.
- Relevant Experience: At least 2–3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a
- similar role.
- Systems Proficiency: Experience working with accounting systems and ERP
- platforms. NetSuite experience is desirable.
- Excel Skills: Intermediate to advanced proficiency, including Pivot Tables,
- VLOOKUPs, and financial reporting.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse and interpret
- financial data accurately.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability
- to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Process-Oriented Mindset: Ability to manage deadlines, maintain financial controls,
- and improve operational efficiency.
- Team Player: Proactive, organised, and capable of working independently as well as
- within a collaborative finance team.
