ORIGINAL STORY:

Some of you may be aware that Kwalee is the official publishing partner of Buildbox, and that every day we work closely with a number of creators who use the no-code development platform to prepare their games for success in the mobile games market.

We also run game jams together from time to time, in which we challenge Buildbox users to make games that fit a specific theme and are developed entirely within a tight timeframe.

Previous game jams have been based around ‘Hyper Casual‘, the quickfire style of games for which we’ve become known, and ‘Prototypes‘. Not only are they a great creative challenge for participants and a lot of fun, there are also some brilliant prizes to compete for and even the prospect of a lucrative publishing deal to publish your game with us and reach millions of players!

This time, the theme is ‘Attraction’. Challenging participants to think outside the box, there’s much more to ‘Attraction’ than just romance – though there are of course plenty of opportunities for those of you who want to embrace the Valentine’s spirit!

‘Attraction’ could be applied to a physics-based magnetics game, a game about friendship, or whatever the word means to you and your game. If it makes sense to you and it’s fun to play, we want to see it!

The game jam is officially open for entries now, closing on Sunday 21st February 2021 at 3.59PM (PST).

As for prizes, there are rewards up for grabs for the ultimate winner and two runners-up, including a Kwalee swag bag worth up to $250, hundreds of dollars in gift vouchers, a year’s subscription to Buildbox Pro and much more – including, of course, the chance to work closely with us to improve your game and potentially earn a publishing deal!

As well as this, there will be additional prizes available for the three additional winners in the following categories: Best Newcomer, Most Visual Impact and Most Unique Game Mechanic.
