After the brilliant success of our first game jam together and embarking on a long-term partnership, our most recent challenge to the Buildbox community was a game jam with the theme of ‘Prototypes’.
Using Buildbox, the no-code game development platform, participants were given just 72 hours to create the best possible hyper-casual game prototypes to impress a panel of judges from our publishing team.
Alongside a selection of great prizes for the winners, there was also the prospect of a lucrative publishing deal with Kwalee for entrants to the game jam that particularly impressed, which could be the key to unlocking a game’s chart-topping potential!
Once again, the quality of submissions was extremely high and it was a pleasure to check them all out.
But without further ado, let’s get into the winners! With this game jam being themed around prototypes, our objective was not to judge these submissions as though they were finished products but rather to look at their potential. The chosen winners are as follows:
1st Place – Color Ramp by TapMen Games (Vlad and Radu Popa)
2nd Place – CraneBox by Leighton Joyce
3rd Place – Scale Run by Avaz Nizamov
Best World/Environment – Color Swatch by Tomato Owl (Fathima Raseed)
Most Impactful Moment – Cube Catch by Mh Tan
Unique Gameplay – Bonker Blocks by Quarantine Games Lab (Anthony Ayson & Kayvan Bahador)
Best Pitch Video: Bank Bandit by Rocket Fuel Games (Will Greenland)
A huge congratulations from Kwalee to all the winners!
Stay tuned for details on our next game jam with Buildbox, but also remember that our publishing team is happy to hear about your exciting hyper-casual Buildbox creations at all times!
